New in Contact Lenses

Daily disposable contact lenses are being touted as the next big evolution in contact lenses. Ciba Focus dailies still lead the market and are enhanced by their new "Aqua" lubricating agent. Vistakons Acuvue 1 day moist was the first to add moisturizers to their lenses and remains the Cadilac of this category. They are adding a 90 pack to their offerings in February 2010 which makes them cost competitive as well. Bausch and Lombs Soflens One days remain a low cost leader and are among the easiest to handle. Biomedics Clearsight resists drying and is a little stiffer than the other lenses and provides a useful alternative.

Oasys Toric contacts are now available as the next evolution in astigmatic vision correction from Acuvue. They offer improved oxygen permeability, wetability and handling over the previous generation of lenses. Oasys bifocals were introduced in March 2009.

Keeping competitive, Ciba has introduced their Air Optix toric and sphere the improved upgrade to the older O2 Optix. Ciba also has added a lubricant to their popular 1 day disposable Dailies to reduce drying and improve comfort.

Rebate coupons are available for Acuvue, Freshlook Colors, Ciba, Cooper and Bausch and Lomb disposable contact lenses. We frequently offer specials on our different products and services. Please call us for details.

We fit many bifocal soft and gas permeable contact lens designs. The initial response has been great for people just starting with bifocals and better than previous designs for more advanced presbyopes..

Daily disposable contacts have been very helpful for patients with hectic schedules, allergies and dry eyes. Acuvue is actively promoting its One Day Moist for part time contact lens wearers who want a comfortable trouble free lens available for special occasions and sports.

Superpermeable lenses are available for up to 30 days extended wear use and solve problems for people with swollen corneas, chronic redness and reduced wearing time.
